Our time together is valuable.
I’m talking about inherent worth. You deserve care that is excellent, ethical, supported by experience and research, and catered to you as a unique individual in a unique moment in time. It is an honor for me to share such moments with clients. I will be committed to working just as hard as you – with you – through the journey.
Prioritizing yourself pays back.
I’m talking about wealth and health. Therapy is a bit like investing in the stock market. There are ups and downs, risks and rewards, and there are certainly no guarantees, but if you invest wisely in yourself, you will most likely profit.
There’s no better time to get mental health support than the present. Start here.

Fine print you’ll find in my paperwork:
Rates are determined by the type and length of service you are receiving. Sliding scale rates may be available based on need. Unless you’re using your insurance (through Headway) payment is conducted through Ivy Pay at the start of each session. A 24-hour cancelation policy is a part of my practice agreements, and you will be billed or charged appropriately in these circumstances. Sessions start and end on time, and there are no reimbursements or deductions for late comers or shortened sessions. If a client is more than 15 minutes late without reasonable communication, it is considered a “late cancelation” and you will be charged for the full session. For clients paying privately, you may be able to claim your sessions through your “out of network” benefits; if so, I can provide billing statements that you can submit to your primary insurance provider for reimbursement. Reimbursements are made at your insurance provider’s discretion.
I would be happy to help you find answers to how you can make therapy fit in your budget.
Good Faith Estimates
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services, including psychotherapy. FYI: This estimate // price of services // is provided 1) verbally during our first consultation, 2) in the client agreement paperwork, and 3) via text when you are charged for your first session.
Things to know about this law:
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes psychotherapy.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your therapy session. You can also ask your health care provider (therapist) and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule therapy services.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill (example: I charge you $500 per session, when we agreed your fee per session was $100).
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises or email Amy at AmySerafinCounseling@gmail.com.
